David Jackson

Communications Manager at University of Idaho

David Jackson is the current Communications Manager at University of Idaho. Prior to this, they were the Director of Economic Services at the Western Wood Products Association from January 2008 to December 2010. In this role, they managed a corporate Division that provided business and consulting services to member companies, the federal government, and other affiliates of the western softwood lumber industry in 12 western states and Alaska. From January 1994 to December 1998, Jackson was a Staff Forester at Oregon State University where they managed timber harvest, road construction, and log merchandizing activities on University-owned forestlands in western Oregon. David began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Mississippi State University from January 1991 to December 1993 where they utilized statistical and economic analysis to evaluate production constraints at softwood and hardwood lumber manufacturing facilities in Mississippi.

David Jackson has a PhD in Natural Resources from the University of Idaho and a PhD in Forest Resources from Mississippi State University. David also has a Master's degree in Forestry from Auburn University and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

David Jackson reports to Jodi Walker, Senior Director, Communications. They are on a team with Amy Calabretta - Marketing & Communications Manager, Maria Ortega - Marketing & Communications Manager, and Ross Wulf - Marketing & Communications Manager.
