Debra Levey Larson

Debra Levey Larson has been serving as the Senior Coordinator of Communications and Alumni Relations at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since 1999, with previous roles including Coordinator of Communications and Alumni Relations and Writer. With a focus on making complex scientific concepts accessible to non-scientists, Debra emphasizes the importance of sharing scientific knowledge beyond academic circles. Debra has also worked as a freelance media/communications specialist, providing voice-over talent for various media formats, and held the position of Independent Writer/Producer from 1985 to 1999, creating promotional materials and educational videos. Earlier career experience includes writing and producing at WICD-TV and representing Block China/Atlantis Crystal in Chicagoland. Debra holds a Master's Degree in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Illinois and a B.A. in Communications from Wheaton College.
