Janice Shiu

Janice Shiu is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign while serving as a Research Assistant. Prior experience includes a role as a Senior Analyst at Compass Lexecon, where Janice led teams in statistical analyses for legal and merger cases. Janice also worked as a Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, focusing on remote sensing, data analysis, and data visualization related to agriculture and climate change. Additional positions include a Data Scientist internship at the U.S. DOT Volpe National Transportation Systems Center and a Research Intern at The Stimson Center. Janice holds a Bachelor's degree in Statistics and Data Sciences, and Earth Sciences from MIT, and previously conducted research in paleooceanography at San Francisco State University.
