Emily Keener

Emily Keener is an accomplished professional in the field of instructional design and continuing education, currently serving as the Director of Continuing and Professional Education at the University of Illinois Springfield since June 2022. With a diverse background that includes roles as Interim Director and Instructional Development Specialist, Emily has contributed significantly to workforce development initiatives in Illinois. As the owner of Keener Instructional Writing, Emily provides tailored instructional writing services to enhance client customer support and learning experiences. Previous experience includes positions as an Instructional Technologist at Western Governors University and Operations Learning & Development Specialist at Equifax, where competencies in online course development and workforce training were demonstrated. Emily also holds a Master of Science in Education in Instructional Design and Performance Improvement from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, alongside a BA in Mass Communication from the University of Illinois Springfield.
