Palaniappan Ramaswamy is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in teaching and research, currently serving as a Reader and Head of the Data Science Research Group at the University of Kent since September 2014. Ramaswamy specializes in biological signal processing, including EEG and ECG, as well as machine learning, biometrics, and brain-computer interfaces. Prior roles include Reader in Signal Analysis at the University of Wolverhampton and Academic at the University of Essex. Additionally, Ramaswamy has held positions as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University and Senior Lecturer and Associate Dean at Multimedia University. Ramaswamy earned a PhD in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of Malaya and possesses a solid foundation in academia dating back to education at La Salle School.
