Kip Guy is the current Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky. Kip has a long and accomplished history in the field of pharmacy, holding various positions at different companies over the years.
Guy first started their career as a professor at the University of California, San Francisco in 1998. Kip then became the Department Chair at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in 2005 where they helped grow the department from one employee to 145 personnel. In 2006, they joined Medicines for Malaria Venture as an ESAC Member and helped draft the first formal target-product and target-candidate profiles for MMV. Kip left MMV in 2013 to join their current position as Dean at University of Kentucky.
Kip Guy's educational career began with a BA in Chemistry from Reed College. Kip then went on to complete a certificate in Cell Physiology from the Woods Hole Marine Biological Laboratory. After that, Kip Guy obtained their PhD in Organic Chemistry from Scripps Research. Finally, they completed a postdoc in Cell Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
They work with Kathleen Montgomery - Interim Director, Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce, Mitzi Vernon - Dean, College of Design, and Charles Chipper Griffith III - Acting Dean, College of Medicine. Kip Guy reports to Robert DiPaola, Acting Provost.
