Rui Leitão

Rui Leitão is a Lecturer in Graphic and Communication Design at the University of Leeds since September 2021, leading multiple modules focused on Information Design and serving as a supervisor for various design research courses. Additionally, Rui collaborates with CIIMAR to bridge marine science and design, investigating tools for communicating climate change impacts. Previous roles include Research Associate in User Centred Design at Loughborough University, PhD Design Researcher at the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and Illustrator & Infographic Designer at Porto Editora. With a strong educational background in design, including a Ph.D. from Loughborough University and multiple master's degrees, Rui has cultivated extensive experience in communication design, user interface development, and teaching artistic expression.
