Shona Smith is an accomplished academic and research professional with extensive experience in climate and atmospheric science. Currently serving as the Head of the Priestley Centre for Climate Futures and the Research and Innovation Development Manager at the University of Leeds since March 2016, Shona has previously held roles as Research Coordinator at Newcastle University's Institute for Sustainability and as a Research Scientist focusing on Atmospheric Chemical Kinetics at the University of Colorado Boulder. Earlier career positions include Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Leeds and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bristol, both concentrating on atmospheric processes. Shona holds a Master's degree and a PhD in Chemistry and Atmospheric Chemistry, respectively, from the University of Leeds.
