Matthew Reed

Matthew Reed is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in both the nonprofit and public sectors. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Marie Curie UK since February 2019, Matthew also holds positions as a Lay Member of Council at the University of Liverpool and Chair of the Board of Trustees at New Horizon Youth Centre. Previously, Matthew was the Chief Executive Officer of The Children's Society, where efforts focused on addressing the challenges faced by disadvantaged youth and transforming their lives through innovative services and advocacy. Additional roles include chairing the Birmingham Child Poverty Commission and various leadership positions within Christian Aid and Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Matthew's educational background includes degrees from the University of Oxford, University of Surrey, and the University of Nottingham, among others, alongside completing strategic leadership programmes at Harvard and Saïd Business School.
