Professor Sue Smith

Professor Sue Smith is a seasoned academic and leader in the fields of innovation and enterprise, currently serving as a Professor and Director of the Centre for SME and Enterprise Development at the University of Central Lancashire since August 2015. With a robust background in business engagement and development, Professor Smith has held significant roles at various institutions, including the University of Liverpool as an External Examiner and Teesside University as Associate Dean for Business Engagement. Notably, during their tenure at Lancaster University, Professor Sue led the LEAD program, facilitating substantial growth for SMEs through community learning. Professor Smith's extensive experience encompasses managing public funding initiatives and designing research-led interventions for a diverse range of businesses, reinforced by a PhD in Learning and SMEs from Lancaster University.
