Kate Daubney

Director, The Careers Group at University of London

Kate Daubney is the Director of The Careers Group at University of London. Kate has over fifteen years of experience in the field of career development and has held various positions at different institutions.

Kate started their career as an Editor of FOCUS: The Magazine, a publication by FOCUS Information Services. Kate then went on to become the owner of Intelligent Voiceover, a company that provides voiceover services for businesses and organizations.

In 2014, Kate became a Careers Fellow at Shrewsbury School. Two years later, they were appointed as the Director of Careers & Employability at University of Chester. In this role, Kate was responsible for leading the careers team and providing support to students and graduates.

In 2017, Kate joined The Careers Group as the Head of King's Careers & Employability. In this role, they have been responsible for leading the careers team of 50+ staff at King's College London. Under their guidance, the team has developed new initiatives to embed employability in higher education and careers learning. Kate has also consulted with over 20 UK universities as well as a number of international universities in Europe, North America and Australasia.

Kate Daubney has a Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Education from The University of Edinburgh. Kate also has a Diploma in Career Guidance and Development from The Open University. In addition, Kate has a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from the University of Leeds. Kate also holds a PhD in Music in Film from the University of Leeds. Furthermore, Kate has a PGResearch in Music, Cinema from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Lastly, they have an MA in Sociology from the University of York and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Maths and Music from the University of Leeds.

Kate Daubney reports to Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, Chancellor. Kate Daubney works with Ghazwa Alwani-Starr - Pro Vice-Chancellor, Strategy, Planning & Partnerships, Lynne Roberts - Head of International Foundation Programme, and Rita Akushie - CFO.
