Rachel Piper

Rachel Piper serves as the Chief Procurement Officer and Executive Director of Strategic Procurement at the University of Maine System, a position held since December 2013. With extensive experience in procurement strategy development, cost savings initiatives, and supplier relationship management, Rachel has led various procurement functions and complex project initiatives within the university. Prior roles include Director of Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Relationship Management, as well as a Product Manager at Cuddledown, where Rachel managed sourcing and vendor relationships. Additionally, Rachel owned Wildfut LLC, focusing on sustainable apparel, and served as Lead Category Manager and Lead Sourcing Specialist at L.L.Bean, developing sourcing strategies and negotiating contracts across multiple regions. Rachel holds a degree from the University of Southern Maine.
