George Kinghorn

George Kinghorn serves as the Senior Executive Director of Cultural Engagement and Arts Initiatives. Kinghorn is responsible for coordinating the overall vision, leadership, guidance, oversight, and management for UMaine’s three cultural engagement units: Collins Center for the Arts, Hudson Museum, and Zillman Art Museum. He encourages a spirit of collaboration among the cultural arts units, UMaine’s arts-related academic departments, and other areas of the University. Kinghorn also serves as the Executive Director & Curator of the Zillman Art Museum, a position that he has held since 2008. Prior to joining the UMaine community, he was with the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville from 1999-2008 and served in several positions including Executive Director and Deputy Director & Chief Curator. Kinghorn received a Master of Fine Arts degree in visual art from Michigan State University.
