Sheridan Kelley Adams has a diverse work experience ranging from teaching and instructional design at the University of Maine to owning a video production company called Knife Edge Productions. They started their career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Maine in 2004 and taught various courses in New Media, Art, and the Innovation Engineering program. They were also involved with the MFA program in Intermedia. In addition to teaching, they worked as an Instructional Designer, Associate Director of Instructional Design, and later became the Director of Instructional Design and Development Services at the University of Maine. Prior to their academic career, Adams worked as a Dealer Service Specialist at Polaroid. Between 2004 and 2015, they also owned and operated Knife Edge Productions, a video production company with a focus on utilizing advanced technology.

Sheridan Kelley Adams holds a Bachelor of Art degree in History and Studio Art from Bowdoin College, which was obtained from 1990 to 1994. They also earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design, completing it between 1996 and 1999. In addition, they have a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a focus on New Media from the University of Maine, which they acquired from 2004 to 2006.
