Sam Crawford is a seasoned professional in sound design, composition, and media technology with a diverse portfolio. Currently serving as a Lecturer in Sound & Media Technology at the University of Maryland since August 2020, Crawford has also contributed significantly to various performance projects such as La Medea, where innovative approaches merge music and film. With extensive experience at New York Live Arts, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, and David Dorfman Dance, Crawford has shaped the audio landscape of numerous performances, including the critically acclaimed Analogy and A(Way) Out of My Body. Additional roles as a Live Sound Engineer at The Kitchen and early work in sound engineering at Jazz Standard and The New School Jazz Program further underscore Crawford's expertise in the field. A graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, Crawford holds both AS and BS degrees in Audio Engineering and English.
