Amit Achrekar

Amit Achrekar is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with extensive experience in information security leadership. Currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at the University of Melbourne since May 2019, Amit previously held the position of Information Security Leader at Latitude Financial Services from November 2015 to April 2019, overseeing operational security and incident response while leading a team to mitigate information security risks. Prior to that, Amit worked for GE Capital from March 2008 to October 2015, progressing through various roles including Information Security Delivery Leader and Information Security Management Leader, where responsibilities included managing security incidents, supplier risk assessments, and audit compliance. Amit holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Internet and Web Computing from RMIT University and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Mumbai.
