Karin Wilkins

Dean, School of Communication at University of Miami

Karin Wilkins is currently the Dean of the School of Communication at the University of Miami. Karin has been in this role since August 2019. Prior to that, they were a Professor and Associate Dean at the University of Texas at Austin from January 1995 to August 2019. Before that, they were a Lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong from January 1993 to December 1994. Karin Wilkins started their professional career as an Evaluation at The Pew Charitable Trusts from January 1990 to December 1992.

Karin Wilkins has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Communication and Media Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Karin also has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Bucknell University, and has studied at the American University of Cairo and the University of Edinburgh.

They are on a team with Edward Abraham - Executive Vice President for Health Affairs and CEO of UHealth, Henri Ford - Dean, Miller School of Medicine, and Aileen M. Ugalde - Vice President and General Counsel. Their manager is Julio Frenk, President.
