David Weerts

David Weerts is currently a Professor and Associate Vice Provost for Public Engagement, as well as the Faculty Director of the Office for Public Engagement at the University of Minnesota since August 2020. Prior to this role, David served as an Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Innovative Higher Ed, along with earlier positions as an Assistant Professor at the same institution from August 2008 to April 2020. David's academic career began at Florida Atlantic University as an Assistant Professor from August 2005 to May 2008, and prior to that, David was the Director of Development at the Graduate School of the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1998 to 2004. David holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and a Master of Science (MS) in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
