Mark DeRuiter is a highly experienced academic professional currently serving as Professor and Vice Chair for Academic Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh since July 2020. Prior to this role, Mark has held significant positions at the University of Minnesota, including Associate Department Director and Director of Graduate Studies and Clinical Programs, and Clinical Program Director since 2005. Mark also served as the Associate Department Head for Clinical Education in the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Arizona from July 2017 to July 2020. Earlier in the career, Mark worked as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Audiology Program at Wayne State University from 2002 to 2005. Mark holds a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from Augsburg University, and a Master’s degree in Audiology from Michigan State University, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Audiology and Speech Sciences from the same institution.
