Mcknight Presidential Endowed Professor In Electrical And Computer Engineering at University of Minnesota

Rhonda R. Franklin is a distinguished McKnight Presidential Endowed Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Minnesota, where engagement began in October 1998. Franklin also serves as the Integration Director for the NSF ERC for Advanced Technology for the Preservation of Biological Systems and holds the positions of Abbott Professor of Innovative Education and Co-Director of the Inspire Program within the Institute for Engineering and Medicine. With a research focus on high-speed printed antennas, passive circuits in polymers and semiconductors, and integrated packaging techniques, Franklin has held various academic roles, including Special Assistant to the Dean on Strategic Partnerships with HBCUs and Interim Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Prior to the University of Minnesota, Franklin was a Visiting Faculty member at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Franklin earned a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
