Charlotte Fant Pegues

Interim Vice Chancellor, Student Affairs at University of Mississippi

Named interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs in November 2019, Dr. Charlotte Fant Pegues leads a team of professionals who are committed to providing exceptional services and creating an environment where all students can be successful. During her 26 years of service to the university, she has served as assistant vice chancellor for student affairs, assistant provost, director of admissions, and registrar. She oversees a variety of student issues related to academic progress and works closely with other university departments to resolve student concerns.

Pegues serves on a number of university committees including the Council of Academic Administrators, and the Strategic Planning Council. She serves as chair for the Recruitment, Admissions, Orientation and Advising Committee, the Committee on Academic Grade Appeals, the Committee on Academic Dismissal Appeals and the Undergraduate Council. Additionally, she serves as the university’s representative to the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning’s Articulation Committee and Military Credit Task Force as well as the Women in Higher Education Mississippi Network.

Pegues earned several degrees from the university including a B.A. in Psychology, an M.A. in Education and a Ph.D. in Leadership and Counselor Education. She holds an academic appointment in the School of Education as an Assistant Professor of Leadership and Counselor Education. She and her husband, Tee, enjoy living in Oxford and love being a part of the university community and family.
