Craig Maher

Director, School Of Public Administration at University of Nebraska at Omaha

Craig Maher currently serves as the Director of the School of Public Administration and the Nebraska State and Local Government Finance Lab, as well as a Professor at the University of Nebraska at Omaha since January 2014. In this role, Craig Maher teaches graduate-level courses in Public Budgeting, Revenues, and Financial Management, mentors doctoral students, and conducts research on government financial management. Previous positions include serving as Director of the MPA Program at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University in 2017, Associate Professor at Northern Illinois University from 2012 to 2013, and Professor and Chair of the Department of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh from 2001 to 2012. Earlier career roles include Research Associate at the Center for Urban Initiatives and Research and Research Director at the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance. Craig Maher earned a Ph.D. in State and Local Government from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee between 1985 and 1995.
