Molly Beisler

Director, Collections & Discovery at University of Nevada-Reno

Molly Beisler has extensive work experience in the field of library and information services. Molly started their career at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2003 as Head of the Metadata & Cataloging Department, a position they held until 2012. From 2012 to 2014, Molly served as a Knowledge Access & Discovery Librarian before being promoted to Head of Discovery Services, a role they held from 2014 to 2022. Most recently, Molly assumed the position of Director of Collections & Discovery at the University of Nevada, Reno in July 2022.

In addition to their work at the University of Nevada, Reno, Molly also worked as an Archivist for the Foundation of the New York State Nurses Association from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they served as a Fulbright Scholar at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas from 1995 to 1996.

Molly's expertise and professional journey demonstrate their commitment to the field of library and information services, with a focus on collections management, discovery, metadata, and cataloging.

Molly Beisler earned their MLS degree in Cataloging & Archives Management from the University at Albany, SUNY from 1998 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed their MA in Near East Languages & Cultures from Indiana University Bloomington from 1996 to 1998. Molly Beisler also holds a BA in Middle East Studies from Brown University, which they obtained from 1991 to 1995.
