Claire Annesley

Dean – UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture at UNSW

Claire Annesley currently serves as the Dean of Arts, Design & Architecture at UNSW, a role held since February 2020, focusing on addressing global challenges through creativity and collaboration. Additionally, Claire has held positions as Acting Provost and Dean of Arts & Social Sciences at the National Institute of Dramatic Art since March 2021, and has served as a Non-Executive Director at the University of Sussex from March 2015 to February 2020. Prior experience includes roles at The University of Manchester, where Claire was Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor, and Head of Politics from 2000 to March 2015, and at The University of Sheffield as a Deputy Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Politics. Claire's academic journey began with an academic tutor position at the University of Lodz, while educational qualifications include a PhD in Politics from The University of Sheffield, a BA (Hons) in German and Politics from Newcastle University, and completion of a Postgraduate Diploma in Innovation and Design Thinking from esteemed institutions such as MIT Sloan School of Management and Columbia Business School.
