Associate Vice President Global Research And Innovation

Vinayak Dixit is an accomplished academic and research leader with extensive experience in transportation engineering and smart cities. Currently serving as the Associate Vice President of Global Research and Innovation and Professor at UNSW since October 2011, Vinayak also holds the position of IAG Chair Professor of Risk in Smart Cities and has previously been an Associate and Senior Lecturer in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Additionally, Vinayak has directed the Research Centre for Integrated Transportation Innovation (rCITI) since 2013 and has served as Chief Science Officer at Nexport from September 2021 to September 2023. In earlier roles, Vinayak contributed as Academic Director at IAG and as Associate Director of Research at the Gulf Coast Center for Evacuation and Transportation Resiliency at Louisiana State University. Vinayak holds a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from the University of Central Florida and an Integrated M.Tech. in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
