Christopher Oakley is an accomplished academic and industry professional in the field of new media and animation. Currently serving as Associate Professor & Chair of New Media at the University of North Carolina Asheville since July 2018, Christopher has been a part of the faculty since December 2008, initially as an Assistant Professor teaching animation. Prior to their academic career, Christopher gained significant industry experience at prominent animation studios, including DreamWorks Animation as an animator on "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" and Walt Disney Animation Studios, where Christopher worked on major projects such as "Dinosaur" and "Magic Lamp." Christopher holds a Master of Fine Arts in Film, specializing in Screenwriting and Directing from Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Lawrence University.
