James Robinson

James Robinson is an experienced budget professional currently serving as Budget Director at the University of North Carolina Asheville since October 2023 and as an Adjunct Instructor in Public Financial Management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since July 2022. Prior to these roles, James Robinson was a Budget Execution Principal Analyst and Education Team Lead at the NC Office of State Budget & Management, where management of the $12 billion public education budget was a key responsibility. With a background that includes positions such as Research & Policy Associate at the Rural Advancement Foundation International-USA and Research Assistant for the Fiscal Research Division of the North Carolina General Assembly, James Robinson has developed expertise in budget execution, policy advocacy, and education finance. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Political Science from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from LaGrange College.
