Kimberly Nava Eggett, EdD has a diverse range of work experience in the field of education. Kimberly is currently the Director of the Center for Diversity Education at the University of North Carolina Asheville, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Asheville City Schools from 2012 to 2023 as a Digital Lead Teacher. From 2018 to 2021, they served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Carolina Asheville. Earlier in their career, from 2006 to 2012, they worked as a 4th and 5th Grade Teacher at Asheville City Schools.

Kimberly Nava Eggett, EdD, obtained their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership and Instructional Technology from Appalachian State University. Kimberly completed this degree from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Educational/Instructional Media Design from the same university, from 2010 to 2012. Kimberly'sBachelor's degree in Spanish and K-5 Elementary Ed Licensure, K-12 Spanish Licensure was obtained from the University of North Carolina Asheville from 2001 to 2005. Additionally, Kimberly holds certifications in Google Level I and II Teacher Certification from Google, as well as K-12 Spanish and K-5 Elementary Education certifications from the University of North Carolina Asheville, obtained in 2005.
