Meghan Harte Weyant

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at University of North Carolina Asheville

Dr. Meghan Harte Weyant currently serves as the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at The University of North Carolina Asheville. Harte Weyant (or MHW) previously served as the Vice President for Student Life at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and prior to that as the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.

MHW enjoys serving the campus community as a creative, innovative and strategic leader and partner. The best part about serving in the VCSA role is that means she gets to support students as they pursue their greatest passions and dreams. Serving as the chief advocate for students, she aims to be student centered, date informed and a strong partner for faculty, staff, parents and families.

MHW completed her B.S. in psychology at Central Michigan University (2004) and her M.Ed. at Grand Valley State University (2006). She completed her Ph.D. in Sociology at The University of Central Florida. Her dissertation and research focused on the impact of social inequalities on education and achievement, specifically the intersection of social class, family and education. Throughout her career, Weyant has maintained the consistent priority of linking creativity and strategy to create systemic change around social inequality and education.

Most importantly, MHW has an amazing partner, three sons, two dogs, and a cat. She is a terrible singer, hobby astrologer, and aficionado of donuts and french fries.
