Katie Stember

Katie Stember currently serves as the Director of Experiential Learning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on providing high-quality experiential learning opportunities for graduate students. Previously, Katie held the position of Director of Life Science Economic Development at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, where support for life sciences companies seeking to expand or relocate in North Carolina was a key responsibility. Additionally, Katie was the Associate Director of Life Science Economic Development at Scientists of North Carolina, a community initiative aimed at sharing scientists' stories and breaking down stereotypes. Other significant experiences include a fellowship at the North Carolina Office of Science Technology and Innovation, research roles at Massachusetts General Hospital, and graduate studies at UNC Chapel Hill, culminating in a PhD in Pathology/Experimental Pathology. Katie's educational background also includes a BS in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University.
