Malbert Smith

Malbert Smith is a distinguished academic and entrepreneur with extensive experience in educational technology and research. Currently a Research Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since January 2009, Malbert co-founded MetaMetrics in March 1984, where Malbert serves as CEO, President, and Co-founder, focusing on assessment and instructional alignment through innovative intellectual property developed with Jack Stenner. Prior to MetaMetrics, Malbert co-founded the National Technology Group in January 1982, which flourished into a notable IT services company with over 900 employees and substantial annual revenue. Earlier in their career, Malbert contributed as a Senior Researcher at NTS Research Corporation from January 1979 to January 1981, working on various education-related research projects. Malbert holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, along with a Master's degree in the same field and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Duke University.
