Valerie Gartner, PhD, currently serves as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, focusing on molecular signatures of Inflammatory Bowel Disease through RNA-Seq and ATAC-Seq data. Previously, Valerie worked as a Bioinformatics Consultant at The Bioinformatics CRO, where responsibilities included implementing omics data processing pipelines and conducting literature reviews for project benchmarking. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Duke University, research centered on the evolutionary history of the malaria parasite P. vivax. Valerie began her career in research as a Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, contributing to the Undiagnosed Diseases Program. Valerie earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Genetics & Genomics from Duke University and holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Bryn Mawr College.
