Alan Boyette

Alan Boyette serves as the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro since July 1991, following a tenure as Senior Vice Provost. Additionally, Alan Boyette has been a Senior Consultant with Summit Search Solutions, Inc. since December 2019. Prior experience includes the role of Assistant Secretary of the University at the University of North Carolina - General Administration from 1987 to 1991, providing advisory and staff support to the UNC Board of Governors. Alan Boyette's background also includes positions as a Community & Economic Development Adviser at Marine Corps Air Station at Cherry Point and as a Socio-Economic Analyst at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Public Policy/Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Post-Graduate Certificate from the University of Southern California, along with advanced studies in Urban Studies and Planning & Economic Analyses from Emory University and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, respectively.
