Donna Governor

Associate Professor at University of North Georgia

Donna Governor, PhD, serves as an Associate Professor at the University of North Georgia since August 2016, focusing on science methods, integrated science, and pre-service teacher science education, with research interests in informal science education and STEM teaching. In addition to academic responsibilities, Donna operates as an independent Educational Consultant through Governor Educational Consulting since June 2010, providing expertise in professional development and program evaluation. Leadership experience includes serving as Director of Preservice Teacher Preparation for the National Science Teaching Association from June 2020 to June 2023 and founding the Dahlonega Science Council, which organizes local science events. Donna has held multiple leadership roles within the Georgia Science Teachers Association, including Past President and Board Member, significantly contributing to the governance of science education in the state. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Science Education from The University of Georgia and an Ed.S./MA/BA in Education from the University of West Florida.
