Diane Bruxvoort

Dean, University Libraries at University of North Texas

Diane Bruxvoort is the current Dean of Libraries at the University of North Texas. Diane has previously served as University Librarian and Director at the University of Aberdeen, Senior Associate Dean at the University of Florida, and Associate Dean for Collections at the University of Houston. Prior to their work in academia, Bruxvoort spent nearly 20 years working in public libraries, including as Regional Branch Manager at the Houston Public Library and Branch Manager at Harris County Public Library.

Bruxvoort has been a leader in the library world throughout their career. Diane has been instrumental in developing and implementing strategic plans, expanding library collections and services, and increasing library budgets. Diane is passionate about making libraries accessible to everyone and ensuring that they are thriving institutions within their communities.

Diane Bruxvoort has a MLIS from The University of Texas at Austin and a BA in English/Library Science from Northwestern College.

Diane Bruxvoort reports to Neal J. Smatresk, President. Some direct reports include Mary Ann Venner - Associate Dean for Public Services, Libraries, Sue Parks - Associate Dean for Special Libraries, and Kevin Hawkins - Assistant Dean for Scholarly Communication, Libraries. Diane Bruxvoort works with Pam Padilla - Dean, College of Science, Elizabeth Vogt - Vice Provost, University Accreditation, and Randy Bomer - Dean, College of Education.
