Karen Hutzel

Karen Hutzel is the current Dean of the College of Visual Arts & Design at the University of North Texas. Karen has been in this position since July of 2021. Prior to that, they were an Associate Professor and Department Chair of the Dept. of Arts Administration, Education and Policy at The Ohio State University from September 2005 to June 2021.

Karen Hutzel has a PhD in Art Education from Florida State University, an MA in Art Education from the University of Cincinnati, and a BFA in Design and Visual Communications, General from the University of Dayton.
