Mark Nook currently serves as President of the University of Northern Iowa, a position held since February 2017. Prior to this role, Nook was Chancellor at Montana State University Billings from July 2014 to January 2017. Nook's extensive experience includes key leadership roles such as Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs within the University of Wisconsin System and Provost at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Nook also held significant positions at St. Cloud State University, including Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Professor of Physics and Astronomy. Nook's early experience in academia includes roles at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Concordia College. Nook earned a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, an MS in Astrophysics from Iowa State University, and a BA in Physics and Mathematics from Southwest Minnesota State University.
