George Kenworthy

Board Chair at University of Northwestern-St Paul

Dr. George Kenworthy serves as President and CEO of Hope for the Hurting Home in Hamel, Minnesota. For 32 years he was a senior pastor in Iowa, Colorado, Indiana and Minnesota. He has taught Old Testament; preaching and counseling courses at TEDS, Denver Seminary, Bethel Seminary, Phoenix Seminary and Fuller Seminary.

Kenworthy holds master’s degrees in divinity and theology and a doctorate in ministry. He has served on the Board of Trustees at Trinity International University (1981–87, 1998–2001) and the board of the Minnesota branch of Athletes in Action. He is a regular speaker at Minnesota Teen Challenge. He is the author of two books: Marriage Makeover and Before the Last Resort: Three Simple Questions That Will Rescue Your Marriage-both published by FamilyLife.

Kenworthy and his wife, Joan, have three children, who with their families are Christian workers in limited access countries. Joan taught second grade for 16 years at Chapel Hill Academy in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

Kenworthy enjoys reading, hiking, camping, collecting U.S. coins and any sport.
