Matthew Friel

Matthew Friel currently serves as the Event Management and Olympic Facility Director at the University of Notre Dame since September 2022. Prior to this role, Matthew held the position of Assistant Director of Event Management at the University of Oklahoma from July 2019 to September 2022, and previously completed positions as an Athletic Event Management Graduate Assistant and an Athletic Event Management Intern at the same institution. Matthew's early experiences include serving as the KU Football Manager with University of Kansas Athletics from February 2017 to December 2018 and managing inventory while working as a cashier and stocker at Shoppers Supermarket in 2016. Academically, Matthew earned a B.S. in Sport Management from the University of Kansas, complemented by a minor in Business and Economics and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship, followed by an M.Ed. in Adult and Higher Education with a focus on Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from the University of Oklahoma.
