Bill Whitmer is a highly experienced Senior Investigator Scientist at the University of Nottingham since June 2016, previously holding the same title at the Medical Research Council from July 2009 to June 2016. Bill also served as Scientist-in-Charge (Temporary) during this time. Prior to these roles, Bill was a Senior Hearing Scientist at GN ReSound from October 2004 to June 2009, focusing on the development and optimization of research to enhance the cost-benefit of hearing aids. Beginning a research career as a Research Associate at the Parmly Hearing Institute from 1998 to 2004, Bill designed and evaluated psychoacoustic experiments on sound localization. Academic credentials include a PhD and MA in Perception Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, as well as an MM in Musicology and a BA in Music Theory/Composition from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
