Emma Thorne

Emma Thorne is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in news management and media relations. Currently serving as the Head of News at the University of Nottingham since March 2020, Emma previously held the position of Acting Head of News from April 2019 to March 2020. Emma's career at the University of Nottingham began in June 2000 as a Media Relations Manager for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, where responsibilities included managing the University's Media Guide to Expertise. Prior to this, Emma gained valuable experience as a Senior News Reporter at Nottingham Evening Post from 1998 to 2000 and as a Reporter at Mansfield Chad from 1995 to 1998.
