Irene Guzman Soto

Irene Guzman Soto is a seasoned professional in the field of scientific research, currently serving as the Senior Advisor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Scientific Research at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute since September 2019. Irene has extensive experience in research management and project coordination across various capacities, including managing the BeaTS Research Laboratory and facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration for the INTBIOTECH program. Irene's academic background includes a Master's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of Ottawa and a PhD in Biology/Biological Sciences from Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes, complemented by several teaching roles in higher education. Irene's research experience encompasses the development of biomaterials for regenerative medicine and contributions to immunology studies.
