Dimitar Georgiev

Dimitar Georgiev is currently a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Oxford, participating in the EPSRC Postdoctoral Pathway scheme since March 2024. As a PhD Candidate at Imperial College London from October 2021 to October 2025, Dimitar focuses on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, specifically in deep learning applications for analytical chemistry, label-free biophotonics, and drug discovery under the guidance of Professors Mauricio Barahona and another supervisor. Previous experience includes a Research Assistant role at the University of Southampton, contributing to Turing projects on swarm robotics and AI, and collaboration with Shell Shipping & Maritime on decarbonisation initiatives. Dimitar also held positions as a Data Science Intern at GE Aviation and a Web Development Intern at the University of Southampton Students' Union, as well as a Full-Stack Software Developer at GameSoft Ltd. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning from Imperial College London and a Master of Mathematics from the University of Southampton.
