Julio Diaz Caballero

Julio Diaz Caballero, PhD, is a seasoned bioinformatician with extensive experience in genomic research and data analysis. Currently serving as Lead Bioinformatician at the University of Oxford since May 2019, Julio has also held prominent positions such as Senior Bioinformatician - Pathogen Data Delivery and Postdoctoral Research Assistant under Professor Craig McLean. Prior experience includes a role as Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, where Julio developed bioinformatics pipelines and collaborated on clinical data analysis, and as a Process Development Specialist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, focusing on enhancing next-generation sequencing protocols. Julio's academic credentials include a PhD in Bacterial Genomics from the University of Toronto, alongside studies in biotechnology at Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from UMass Boston.
