Karen Kreeger

Karen Kreeger is an accomplished professional in science communications, currently serving as the Director of Science Communications and Director of Communications at the Monell Chemical Senses Center since August 2019. With a rich history at the University of Pennsylvania Health System as Senior Science Communications Manager since 1997, Karen also operated as a freelance writer and editor from 1991 to 2004, collaborating with prestigious clients such as Nature and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Prior editorial experience includes a role as Senior Editor at The Scientist from 1994 to 1997 and prior writing and research roles at Plymouth Marine Laboratory and Plymouth Aquarium. Karen Kreeger holds a Master of Science in Scientific and Technical Communications and a Master of Science in Marine Studies, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Resource Management from Oregon State University and Penn State University, respectively.
