Murali Balaji

Murali Balaji, Ph.D., is an experienced academic and education advocate with a robust background in media studies and mass communications. Currently serving as a Lecturer and Community, Inclusion, and Culture Advisor at the University of Pennsylvania since January 2018, Murali also oversees internships. As Principal of Maruthi Education Consulting, LLC since December 2017, Murali focuses on educational consulting. Previously, Murali directed education and curriculum reform at the Hindu American Foundation, advocating for the Hindu American community from June 2013 to December 2017. Other roles include Assistant Professor at Temple University and Lincoln University, and Co-founder and Executive Director of The Voice of Philadelphia. Murali holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Penn State University and a Bachelor's in Journalism from the University of Minnesota.
