Stephen J. MacCarthy

Stephen MacCarthy currently serves as Interim Vice President for University Communications at the University of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Board of Directors at MERAKEY USA. With a robust background in higher education communications, Stephen held the position of Senior Advisor to the President and previously served as Vice President for University Communications at the University of Pennsylvania from August 2011 to January 2024. Prior roles include Vice President for External Relations at the University of Arizona and Vice President for University Relations at Penn State University. Stephen's career in public affairs began as the Director of Public Affairs and University Relations for the California State University Office of the Chancellor. Stephen earned a Bachelor's degree from San Diego State University.
