Brandie Jefferson

Brandie Jefferson is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in research communications and journalism. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Research Communications at the University of Pittsburgh since December 2022, Brandie focuses on enhancing the university's reputation in media by translating complex research for the public and journalists. Brandie's freelance reporting since 2008 encompasses a diverse range of topics, including biomedical advancements and travel narratives. Previously, Brandie held significant roles such as Senior News Director at Washington University in St. Louis, Manager of Communications and New Media for the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, and Senior Field Editor at Patch.com. Brandie's journalism career began with positions at The Providence Journal and The Associated Press.
