Claire Gorman is a dedicated professional in the field of optometry with extensive experience in both clinical practice and academic instruction. Currently a Lecturer in Optometry at the University of Plymouth since November 2017, Claire also works as an Optometrist at Vision Express, a position held since July 2014. Previously, Claire contributed to academic research as a Researcher PhD Student at Plymouth University from October 2015 to May 2017, focusing on early detection of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and its risk factors. Claire's career in optometry began as an Optical Assistant at McCormick & Gorman Opticians from 2008 to 2014. Claire holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Optometry from the University of Plymouth, completed in 2014, as well as a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology and Counselling from Teesside University, completed in 2006.
