Tom Harris is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in sports administration, writing, and market research. Currently serving as a Sports Administrator at the University of Portsmouth Students' Union since September 2012, Tom supports student activities and sports. Simultaneously, Tom has pursued a career in writing young adult and middle-grade fiction, holding an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Portsmouth, where notable achievements include being shortlisted for the Meridian winter short story competition and the Cinnamon Press Short Story Award. Prior to these roles, Tom worked as an Interview Project Manager at Bespoke Marketing Solutions/MPlus and as a Customer Satisfaction Research Analyst at Compass Group, gaining valuable expertise in client relations, data analysis, and reporting. Tom's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Land Management and A Levels in English Literature from reputable institutions.

Portsmouth Students’ Union has a vision of creating a positive impact with every Portsmouth student during their time at University. As a charity led by our values and guided by our students, we do this by providing wide-ranging services and learner support to the 20,000 students of the University of Portsmouth. Create change for a better University. Anyone can get involved in the Student Council and run in our Elections for one of many leadership roles. As well as gaining valuable experience through our representation opportunities, students can also volunteer for one of our many volunteering groups such as VIP or SU Heroes. It's a great way to meet new people whilst giving back to the community. Our extensive Activities programme has over 100 sports clubs and societies. We also run one-off trips and events through our Give it a Go programme.
